HELP FROM HOME SCHOLARSHIP

The Rainey Day College Foundation’s Help From Home Scholarship is designed specifically for high school students from the city of Camden, New Jersey with financial need and is seeking to attend a four-year college or university. Existing college students from Camden can also apply for this scholarship (proof of residency required). Our HFH scholarship ranges from $1,000 to $1,500.

We’re here to help. We assign all of our scholars with a mentor/dedicated support person to contact for financial needs, as well as advising. All of our dedicated mentors are available to answer questions via our private message forums.

HBCU SCHOLARSHIP

At the Rainey Day College Foundation, we believe that a student should be supported, nurtured, affirmed and reinforced. These are all important qualities of Historically Black Colleges and Universities. HBCU’s were established to increase the access to college education for African Americans, making those who attend feel empowered by legacy.

​

In our commitment to support students in pursuit of continuing the HBCU legacy, the Rainey Day Foundation will offer a scholarship ranging from $1,000 to $1,500. High school seniors accepted and planning to attend an HBCU and current college students are eligible to apply. 5 available.

THE GLOVERS HBCU SCHOLARSHIP

The Glover Family, through the Rainey Day College Foundation, is offering a $1000 scholarship for a qualified young mind who is a graduating High School Senior (2019) OR a currently enrolled college student who is looking to give back to his/her community through the field of Education or Social Work. These two fields promote a desire to continue our legacy of helping youth learn to accomplish their own goals and dreams and/or help assist and encourage others in need of guidance and support.

The Glovers Give Back Scholarship is open to college students enrolled in an HBCU who have declared majors in the fields of Education or Social Work and maintains good academic standing. It is also open to  High School Seniors in their graduating year (2020) with a 2.75 gpa and have been accepted and plan to attend an accredited 4 year HBCU as an Education or Social Work major.

The amount of this award is $1,000.

THE MANSOUR ALWAN STEM SCHOLARSHIP

The Rainey Day College Foundation, on behalf of the FJ Group, is proud to offer the Mansour Alwan STEM Scholarship Award to a student (High School Senior, Existing College Student, Graduate Student or Adult Learner) in the New Jersey/Pennsylvania area, with a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) related field of study.

​

Students must have a GPA of at least 2.5 and complete an essay answering the question: What problem in the world would you like to solve from an engineering perspective? How would you go about doing it?

 

The amount of this award is $1,000. The deadline to apply is June 30th, 2022

2022 Dr. Dorothea V. Atkins Nursing Scholarship

The Rainey Day College Foundation is proud to honor Dr. Dorothea V. Atkins, by providing a scholarship to a student pursuing the Nursing field of study from the NJ/PA area. The amount of this award is $1000

Walter & Diana Smith Jr. Memorial Scholarship

The Rainey Day College Foundation is excited to present the Walter & Diana Smith Jr. Memorial Scholarship.

 

This award will be granted to a graduating High School Senior of African American descent, who has been accepted to an accredited college or university.

​

Students must answer the following essay question:  Why do you deserve this scholarship? How have you contributed to your community?

​

The amount of this award is $1000. Other conditions apply. The deadline to submit your application is June 30th, 2022.

The Rainey Day College Foundation presents the Marlow C Johnson, You Matter, Engineering Scholarship.

 

This award will be granted to a graduating High School Senior, College Student, or adult learner, who has been accepted to an accredited college or university, and majoring in Engineering.

​

Students must answer the following essay question:  What excites you about Engineering and how will you use your degree to impact your community?

​

The amount of this award is $325. Other conditions apply. The deadline to submit your application is June 30th, 2022.

2022 Marlow C. Johnson - You Matter Engineering Scholarship

The Maurice "Trillz" Johnson Memorial Scholarship

The Rainey Day College Foundation, in partnership with the Johnson Family, honors the legacy of Maurice “Trillz” Johnson, by providing a Scholarship to a student majoring in Business or Finance, and attending his alma mater, Rutgers University.

​

Applicant must be a graduating High School Senior or college student of African American descent, while maintaining a 3.0 GPA.

​

Students must answer the following essay question: What are your thoughts on the importance of financial literacy in the Black community and the impact it has on family legacy?

​

The amount of this award is $1500. Other conditions apply. The deadline to submit your application is July 15th, 2022.
